I am not writing this from a desk somewhere. Nor do I helicopter in for fast travel.
I drive these roads daily. I go to these fests. I eat at these cafes.

I am Marni. I moved to SW Germany eight years ago, and stayed, which was NOT the plan.
Somewhere along the way, festivals, little villages, seasonal foods, and traditions became part of my everyday life. I still have more to discover.
I know getting out to explore can be intimidating. Flying to Europe for the first time may be scary for some people. I share what I am learning as I go to make those steps easier for others.
I really miss my family and friends back home. Sometimes I want everyone here with me. Around my table. Joining me for the fest. And so, here is the way I can connect with you back home. Sharing a recipe I find. Offering a link from my favorite shopping find. Or explaining a fascinating tradition that comes around during the season.
This is why I write. To share places with you that you might love one day, help you hold onto the Europe you will miss, and bring a few of my favorite things home.
